  • Pat,

10/10 to everyone who attended Tuesdays PCRG session! To see you all reach within was inspirational.

The Gold Coast Airport Marathon (July 2) is less than 10 weeks away. Yes, this time next week our Countdown will be well into single digits.

Your campaign is sure to be a successful and enjoyable one if you commit to the following. Gold Coast will be here before you know it!

    • PCRG sessions
    • Brisbane Marathon/ Half Marathon or 10k – This Sunday!
    • Motivation seminar – Gerard Gosens (Blind Inspiration) – Friday May 26
    • Doomben Half Marathon or 10k – June 4
    • Dinner with Deek – Thursday June 29
    • Formal Dinner – July 15

Matthew Langmack is a fellow St Laurence’s ‘old boy’ and when he attended Laurie’s my Mother ran the tuck shop. It’s great to see that Matthew has continued to adopt a similar diet to what Mum instilled back then. The sausage roll in a buttered bread roll with sauce may be out, however Red Rooster is well and truly in.

I hope you enjoy getting to know Matthew Langmack just a little bit more.

Catch you ALL in the morning.

    Cheers

    Pat

P.S. Best wishes to all PCRG members who are running on Sunday. The PCRG canopy will be set up at the race precinct and will be an ideal meeting place, pre and post race.

What a perfect way to start a day!

    Matthew Langmack 'uncut'

I work as a PE Teacher at Mansfield High School. I live in Acacia Ridge. I have lived in Brisbane since 1975 (year of birth) and joined PCRG in March 2005.

My favourite restaurant is Red Rooster, Wishart (especially on Tuesday and Thursday).

My earliest childhood memory is being kept in a plastic box for the first seven weeks of my life. No wonder I’m claustrophobic.

    My favourite movie is Caddyshack.

My regular holiday destination is ?????? tough decision. Only get 10 and a half weeks each year. Easter: Coast/ Body Surfing, June/July: Golf Courses of Brisbane, September: Sydney/Cairns, Christmas: Sunshine Coast.

If money was no option I would become a caddy on the PGA Tour.

It frustrates me when I go to the freezer and there is no ice-cream left.

I have been involved in running since I was at high school and my most memorable running experience is anytime you are competing and you here people cheering.

I enjoy distance running because its non contact and you get to explore the outdoors.

My favourite run is along the coastline between Kings Beach and Moffat Beach, Sunshine Coast.

Motivation is something that is constantly questioned. Especially when you love to sleep as much as I do.

Injuries are your bodies way of saying take it easy for a little while.

Being told I wasn’t good enough to make the school cross country team in younger years was a turning point in my running life because I knew I deserved to be there and proved that person wrong.

PCRG is a place where everyone is treated equal, trains as hard as one another and the rewards are shared within the group.

I prefer running in little running shorts because it makes my skinny legs look big.

Running is a lot less difficult for me as I only have to carry 55 kg around.

The best advice that I take into a race is that “pain is created in the mind and the mind doesn’t feel pain”.

    Gold Coast 2006 - GOALS

I will post your Gold Coast 2006 Goal on my site as well as on a board which will be displayed at the group sessions.

I encourage you to accept the challenge.

Please get out your diaries, your PATHWAY to success will involve these important dates.

Would you like to be a pace runner @ Gold Coast?

I thoroughly enjoy taking the Sub 3hr group at the Gold Coast Airport Marathon each year.

Pacing runners and helping them achieve their goal is a rewarding experience.

The 3hr journey and above moment at the finish line is what will motivate me to increase my running volume over the next 10 weeks.

    Next weeks training
