  • Pat,

This is a final reminder about the Nutrition seminar - tonight @ 6.30pm at The Ship Inn. This is not an exclusive PCRG seminar, anyone is welcome. FOC (optional gold coin donation to Camp Quality).
A hard copy of Greg's presentation will be available, please bring a pen if you wish to take additional notes.

The 5.40am Friday sessions kick in as of this Friday. Friday’s session will be identical to what was run the previous day. Anyone who attended the Thursday session can also attend on Friday however you will be encouraged to warm up with the group, continue for a light run only and then rejoin the group for the warm down and refreshments.

A large number of group members are starting to introduce a longer mid–week run. The Friday session will allow more time to recover between PCRG sessions.

If you wish to take advantage of the Tuesday/Friday option you may also consider joining the group on Thursday for the warm up, continue for a light run only and then rejoin the group for the warm down and refreshments.

    Option A:

    • PCRG Tuesday FAST
    • PCRG Thursday FAST
    • PCRG Friday EASY

    Option B:

    • PCRG Tuesday FAST
    • PCRG Thursday EASY
    • PCRG Friday FAST

There were a number of PCRG members adorning huge grins once they finished the Good Friday 10k. Michelle Dare went into the 10k hoping to break the hour mark and it was great to see the air of achievement which radiated from Michelle when she well and truly achieved her goal.

I hope you enjoy getting to know Michelle Dare just a little bit more.

Catch you ALL in the morning. (and tonight)

    Cheers

    Pat

P.S. Each PCRG session you miss is going to make achieving your goal on July 2 just that little bit more difficult!

    Tori -
''Less than 11 weeks to prepare"

    Michelle Dare 'uncut'

I work as a logistics officer in the Army. (although the usual response to this one is – I paint the dots on dominos). I live in Norman Park, and have lived in Brisbane since August 2005 and joined PCRG in January 2006.

My favourite restaurant is the Japanese Restaurant around the corner from where I live.

My earliest childhood memory is probably my scariest one as well – screaming in terror as pirates and indians shot at me in the dark in my little boat at Disney World. (Maybe this is why I joined the Army)

I don’t really see myself as an adult as they tend to lose their sense of fun in life and are supposed to be mature. It’s much more fun just being me, besides doesn’t life really begin in your 30’s?

My favourite movie is anything really – except horrors. Sunday is movie day.

Brisbane City is fantastic because there is always something to see and do and a great step off point to go exploring around the Sunshine or Gold Coast.

My regular holiday destination is anywhere tropical and near the water, actually anywhere at all, it’s great having the travel bug.

If money was no option I would probably still stay in my job after I had travelled the world, bought a motorbike, grand piano and a boat, (a girl’s got to have some toys)

It frustrates me when I get impatient, do too much sport/running etc to improve and then injure myself.

I have been involved in running since I was in Little Athletics, although anything over 400m was way too far, and my most memorable running experience is deciding to try distance running this year and being able to run further than 400m. Bring on 02 July.

I enjoy distance running because it is the biggest physical challenge I have faced, and when I started out it was so far above me but now I can see 02 July is in reach.

My favourite run is all of them as its always hard work but when you get a great bunch of people supporting you and you push yourself further its worth it, and you always feel better after a shower.

Motivation is something PCRG has in bucket loads and it’s contagious.

Injuries are so frustrating but I’m learning to manage them.

Joining the PCRG was a turning point in my life because I don’t think I’d ever have been motivated to keep going to achieve my goal for 02 July and it’s changed my outlook on running – I used to think I couldn’t run, now I know I can even if it is slow.

PCRG is extremely supportive and a great bunch of people.

I prefer running in the morning because it gets the little endorphins buzzing and it sets me up for a great day and then I can walk my dog in the afternoon.

Distance running is difficult but you’ve got to start somewhere and I can see I’m actually getting there.

The best advice my Dad gave me was if you want to soar with the Eagles don’t play with the Turkeys. (that and adapt, adapt, adapt)

People who excel at what they do inspire me, I say grow you tall poppy, grow. I will never regret joining PCRG and in fact I don’t regret anything I’ve done in life thus far. You just learn from the horrid moments and keep thinking, ‘pain builds character’.

    Gold Coast 2006 - GOALS

I will post your Gold Coast 2006 Goal on my site as well as on a board which will be displayed at the group sessions.

I encourage you to accept the challenge.

Please get out your diaries, your PATHWAY to success will involve these important dates.
