Pat, The feedback I recieved from last Friday night was encouraging to say the least. One group member remarked on the positive/happy feeling within 'our' group at the 3K Challenge, I couldn’t agree more. Candy and Peter Wyatt, Aaron Fraser and Peter Hallahan will be leaving out shores soon to travel to New York for the Marathon. On behalf of the group I wish you all a safe/enjoyable and memorable trip. I hope you enjoy getting to know Linda Nash just a little bit more. Catch you ALL in the morning. Cheers Pat
The group session on Tuesday was minus a few of the regular runners so I will keep the trophy at training and take another group photo when we have a stronger showing. 'Everyone' deserves to be in the photo.
I work at Queensland Treasury Corporation in Treasury Services. I live in Yeronga and have lived in Brisbane since I was twelve. I joined the Pat Carroll running group in April 2005 (thanks to Kate and Karen!). My favourite restaurant is Anise in New Farm. My earliest childhood memory is finger painting at Ela Beach pre-school in Port Moresby, PNG. My favourite movie is any "chick flick" and nothing too heavy. Brisbane City is a pleasure to live in because of its warm winters of course! My regular holiday destination is New Zealand - we like the walking tracks there (Queen Charlotte Track, Abel Tasman). It frustrates me when people ask me why I would bother running!! I have been involved in running since 2001 and my most memorable running experience is crossing the finish line at the Gold Coast Half Marathon this year - many thanks Pat for the motivation and encouragement at your sessions. I am still deciding whether I enjoy distance running because I have yet to experience what it is like to feel "comfortable" when I run - but I am not giving up hope. My favourite run is anywhere near the river in Brisbane. Motivation is something I have plenty of. Injuries are something I am currently "working through". The Pat Carroll running group is a lot of fun to be part of. I prefer running in the morning because of how good I feel for the whole day. Running is difficult to give up, despite its challenges. The best advice a good friend gave me was to worry only about the things you can control.
