    Running is an individual sport. When you are coming face to face with the Grim Reaper at 35k in the Marathon you can’t pass the ball to your team mate, you’re on your own.

    The Tuesday/Thursday group sessions are true testament to the fact that runners thrive in a group environment when preparing for that challenging (personal) goal.

    Friday nights 3K Group Challenge provides a unique opportunity for us ALL to run as ONE. If you are the 30th member of our team crossing the line you will be contributing just as much to our success as the 1st member of our team crossing the line.

    So what better way to put a close to your working week than to run as part of ''OUR'' team and to kick back with a drink or two at the Ship Inn after.

    The following runners have confirmed they will be running:

    Pat/Claire/Theresa/Jan/Mark J/Sarah/Tori/Kate/Scott W/Liz/Andy/Karen/ David L/Matt/Rob/Rick/Trevor/Donna/Glenda/Nicole/ Gary/ Craig/Barry/David Y/Dan/Mary-Jane/Peter W/Peter H/Candy/Andrew P/Pat M

    We need 30 runners to qualify and as you can see from the above we have 31 runners. We therefore can’t afford to have any ‘no shows’. If there are any regular group members not mentioned above and you are indecisive, please join us.

    We will be leaving the Ship Inn @ 5.30pm SHARP for the warm up which will take us to the Grammar Boat Sheds. The 3K Challenge will start @ 6pm SHARP. We will be running an A-B course which finishes 100metres short of the Ship Inn.

    Tomorrow mornings session will involve a 40min warm up followed by some 80metre light sprints and a 10min cool down.

    Brisbane Running Group ''3K CHALLENGE''

    "Our Group'' is void of superstars, everyone respects each other regardless of the pace they may run.

    It is my aim to spread the same philosophy throughout the running community.

    The Brisbane Running Group 3K Challenge, on October 21, will reveal the strongest group overall and each runner will play an equal role in determining the outcome.

    If you are available please register your name at training on the reverse of the A frame poster.

    Next weeks training

    Tuesday 25th: 7 or 9 X 500M, 1MIN SR

    Thursday 27th: 2K/1K/500/2K or 2K/1K/500/1K (1.30 SR)

    Group runs this weekend

    The Brisbane Running Buddies are starting at The Ship Inn this Saturday starting at 6.00am. Runners will be doing varying distances from around 8k upwards depending on what they are training for. Brekky/coffee afterwards at The Ship Inn. All welcome! Contact tfabian@bigpond.net.au if further details are required.

    Mark Jones will be leaving from the Regatta Hotel @ 6.am on Sunday.

    Noosa Triathlon

    Noosa Tri entries are sure to close soon. If you wish to be involved in the Triathlon as an individual or part of a team I strongly suggest you enter NOW.
