  • Pat,

Photos from last Thursdays PCRG session can be viewed here.

It has always been obvious to me that Fiona Winton enjoys attending PCRG because whenever Fiona is with us she is 'forever smiling' which is a delight to see. Fiona was absent from PCRG over the past few months due to her Coomera Half Ironman campaign however thankfully Coomera is done and dusted and Fiona is now back with us.

I hope you enjoy getting to know Fiona Winton just a little bit more.

Catch you in the morning for a natural high that will set you up for a great day!

    Cheers

    Pat

    Fiona Winton ''uncut''

I work as a Project Liaison Manager for Petrac. I live in East Brisbane, have lived in Brisbane since I was five and joined PCRG in May 2005.

My favourite restaurant is Lucky's - mmmmm. It's a cheap Italian Restaurant in the valley.

My earliest childhood memory is seeing snow for the first time and then trying to eat it!

My favourite movie is Dirty Dancing (come on, which young girl didn't like this movie).

Brisbane City is the most beautiful city because of its parks, river, climate and the friendly people.

My regular holiday destination is the Gold Coast. I love relaxing and enjoying the beach.

If money was no option I would travel to see my family more often.

It frustrates me when people are negative. I don't understand people who race and then tell you that they should have done more training? Or tell you what went wrong in their race.

I have been involved in running since around January 2005 and my most memorable running experience is completing my first Half Marathon with my best friend, Shivaun at the Gold Coast.

I enjoy distance running because you get to see the beautiful city we live in.

My favourite run is the city loop from Kangaroo Point. You can follow the river around and always see some PCRG runners out running as well.

Motivation is something I find from setting my next race goal. If I have a goal set then I find it no problems to get up and train. I actually enjoy getting up everyday and starting my day with exercise.

Injuries are something that I have been able to avoid up until now. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Having being diagnosed with Crohns Disease and having a major operation in April 2001 was a turning point in my life because this helped me to really appreciate how lucky we are to be healthy and be able to enjoy exercise and the outdoors. I would have never have imagined being where I am today back then.

PCRG is an amazing group of people who I enjoy spending the first part of the morning with. I have met some great friends and love the support and encouragement that everyone gives to each other. I have had the last month focusing on Coomera Half Ironman and truly missed running with PCRG.

I prefer running in the nude - only joking, in the morning because it's a great way to start the day.

Running is difficult for me as I am slow have a lot to still learn. I watch Andy and the faster guys/girls and wish that I too could run that fast.

The best advice is to enjoy your running experience. Take in the surrounds and the atmosphere. After all we do this for fun.

Steve Grace inspires me by his great attitude towards life. He is always positive, a great supporter and tries his hardest in his running and everything he does.

I will never regret anything. Life is short. Enjoy it!
