  • Pat,

I can 'still' recall how invincible I felt when I was running the best part of 200km/week. Sure there were times when I felt like I was dragging my legs rather than springing off them but the majority of the time I could never run enough. The fact I took part in a 80km race at the Qld University which started @ 1am (Yes 1am!) is true indication as to how much of a running junkie I was.

My desire to run long has been replaced by my passion to hit the surf however I still enjoy running and the invincible feeling I receive following a PCRG session and the solo 1hr runs I do from home.

Running is well up there when it comes to rating an activity that provides you with the most benefit physiologically in return for time spent. I recently had a 5hr session on my wave ski and as far as a workout goes I would equal this to no more than 1hr of running.

Photos from last Thursdays PCRG session can be found here.

Photos from last Fridays PCRG session can be found here.

Angela and Doug Adamson live at Jimboomba (45min trip to PCRG) which means they just pip Karen Masnata (Redcliffe) for the PCRG travel award. Angela ran her debut Half Marathon at the Coast and backed this up with a huge pb in the Noosa Half. I hope you enjoy getting to know Angela Adamson just that little bit more and if you click on Angela's photo you will find a photo of her kids decked out in PCRG gear.

Catch you in the morning for the most efficient and supportive way to feel invincible.

    Cheers

    Pat

    Introducing Angela Adamson

I work as a Forensic Scientist for Queensland Health. I live in Jimboomba, and have lived in Brisbane since 2003. I am from Manchester in the UK and I am a keen Manchester United Supporter- come on the reds!!!! I joined PCRG in January 2007.

My favourite restaurant is Café Kumar in Coopers Plains near where I work. I love hot curries and have fond memories of going there with work friends in hope of bringing on imminent labour of two of my children, which of course never worked - just gave me heartburn!

My earliest childhood memory is waking up in the local hospital after running through the house and being warned from mum that I would fall and bang my head. Yes, I did and was unconscious!!!! I later introduced myself to the girl in the next hospital bed by pulling out her drip (oops!!!!).

My favourite movie is the 'Wedding Singer' - showing my age with all the 80's music. I love Adam Sandler!!!!!

Brisbane City is great for running because of the river and the gardens.

My regular holiday destination is .. What's a holiday????

If money was no option I would visit the UK at least once a month to visit family and friends.

It frustrates me when my husband beats me at running.

I have been involved in running since joining PCRG and my most memorable running experience is running the Noosa Half Marathon and beating my hubby.

I enjoy distance running because it is the only time I get into that 'zone' and think of nothing but overtaking the person in front of me. It is such a great feeling when you accomplish that extra k and beat your pb!

My favourite run is along the river side or the beach. There is something refreshing about running along side water.

Motivation is something that comes from within. I think anyone can do anything once they put their mind to it!!!! It helps having mum time (a break from the kids!).

    Injuries are a pain!

Joining PCRG was a turning point in my life because I feel that I have been able to channel my energy into something that makes me feel good and that in turn makes me a good mum and a good wife (when I am not competing hubby).

PCRG is full of the most inspirational people I have ever met!

I prefer running in the morning because it is such a great start to the day!

Running is most difficult when there are hills.

The best advice Andy Steele gave me in the Gold Coast Marathon 2007 was not to run out too hard. I should have listened!!!!

Everyone inspires me in PCRG because they are so supportive and committed. Pat inspires me because he makes this running thing look so easy!!!

I will always run and as long as I am able to run I will regret nothing!!
