Pat,
Surpassing 100 has been an ambition of mine for
some
time and I'm as proud as punch to announce that a
record number of 102 people attended
Tuesdays
PCRG session. I am excited by the fact PCRG is
thriving however at the same time I am extremely
conscious of the fact that large numbers can result
in certain sessions becoming congested (not
forgetting the safety issue). Photos from Tuesdays PCRG session can be viewed here. The IWD (International Womans Day) 5km is to be held on March 4. The course starts at Southbank Parklands and goes over the goodwill bridge and through the botanical gardens and back again. The first 1000 entrants will receive a free race shirt and details about the IWD 5k can be found here. PCRG member Claire Bellenger is seeking PCRG members (MALE) who would like to take charge of one of the water tables at the IWD 5k. To make it interesting volunteers are invited to dress in a theme, or wigs or something fun! Please contact Claire via email: Claire.bellenger@computercorp.com.au or simply touch base with Claire (she's the loud one) @ training if you are able to volunteer. There is a strong rumour that INTRAINING will have close on 100 runners competing in the Brisbane Running Groups 3k Challenge – Friday week @ 6pm. With your support PCRG will easily match that, and some! The Sherwood Forest run (Sherwood) is celebrating 25 years this Saturday and a strong contingent from PCRG are attending including yours truly. This Saturdays run will be an ideal opportunity for you to experience either the 3,4 or 6k event which takes you through ‘Laurel Avenue’ (voted the best street in Brisbane in 1999). More details here. I started a running group at South Bank the best part of four years ago which attracted between 5 and 10 runners for the first few months. That group is now know as PCRG and I sincerely thank you for your support. It’s just the beginning and I hope you will be joining me again tomorrow morning and/or Friday. Cheers Pat P.S. There are still 4 more pairs of Adidas Sunglasses to be won!
