Pat,
On Sunday I played a small role as MC
for a small suburban Fun Run in Brisbane. The event
was organised by the Green Apple Wellness Centre at
Bald Hills. The annual Fun Run remarkably generates
over $10,000 for Camp Quality via race entry fees,
runner's individual sponsorship and an auction.
It was great to see the local community raising
enough money to send over 20 children, affected by
cancer, on a fun therapy camp.
I hope you have been enjoying the ‘unplugged’
interviews and I welcome any input you may wish to
offer regarding what you would like to hear.
I will be having a quiet drink with Shaun Creighton
(Australian 10,000 metre record holder) next week so
please feel free to contact me via return email if
there is anything you would like Shaun and
myself to discuss.
Cheers
Pat
| Kenenisa Bekele 10,000 metre World record |
 |
|
The great Kenenisa Bekele from Ethiopia recently
broke his own 10,000 m world record, running
26.17.53.
No doubt Kenenisa is still on cloud nine and out on
the town celebrating in style.
You also have the
opportunity to experience the very same state of
euphoria as Kenenisa.

| Sydney Running Festival (Less than 2 weeks to go) |
 |
|
If you are running in the Sydney Running Festival on
September 11 you will be fast approaching your
taper.
You owe it to yourself to ensure you are
standing on the start line feeling fresh and ready to
let rip.
If you are still contemplating entering I hope you
take up the challenge.

| Brisbane's River Run (Less than 3 weeks to go) |
 |
|
My first Fun Run was the now defunct Warana Fun
Run. The race started and finished at South Bank,
the very place Brisbane’s River Run is now staged.
If you are in Brisbane, do yourself a favour and keep
September 18 free, I hope to see you there.

Kerryn McCann ''unplugged'' |
|
|
|
Kerryn McCann has been competing on a National
and International level for as long as I can remember.
Kerryn is true testament to the fact that consistent
preparation over a long period ‘will’ bring rewards.
Not only is Kerryn a World class Marathoner, she is
also a mother of two.
I had a chat with Kerryn and asked her what effect
having Benton and Josie has had on her running
career.
