Pat, No doubt you're have a "ROYAL" ol day and counting down the seconds. Believe it or not I actually met the Queen once. Commonwealth Games 1990 and she had just finished a tour of the dining hall and I was lined up outside to see her walk past. I advised my mate to lean out of the que as she walked past and I'll go down a bit and take a photo - a claytons snap beside the Queen type of thing. Anyway good ol Liz sprung me taking the pic and invited me to step out of the que and take a clean shot of my mate standing beside her. We chatted for a few hours/or was that seconds. Ok - it's time we get cracking with our annual fund raising campaign. Peter Horchner (PCRG member) recently lost his Father to Mesothelioma - Cancer due to Asbestos poisoning - he passed away at 11:30pm on Christmas Eve 2010. He battled this disease bravely for 3 years. This type of cancer is caused from plaques that form after inhaling asbestos fibres. The plaques persist in the pleural cavity and can lie dormant for years before at some stage stimulating growth of cancer cells. The prognosis is dire once this happens. There is no cure - it is a terminal illness in 100% of cases. Treatment is palliative only and aims to preserve quality of life and extend it if possible. Peter submitted a proposal to PCRG suggesting we adopt the Australian Lung Foundation as PCRG's/Gold Coast 2011 charity. This proposal received overwhelming support. How can you help: It's easy!
