And secondly to say to everyone who has entered the 5, 10, ½ or full marathon at the Gold Coast through PCRG (which at last count I think was around 250 people) to set a goal of raising or donating $100. It's the last week of the financial year and your sponsor will recieve an automatic tax deductible receipt.
Our family never thought our brother Brendan's life would succumb to the evil of depression even though we knew he was being treated for it. I never wish this experience on any person. Since Brendan has passed and people have become aware of what happened they have offered me their own experiences of their battle with depression or stories of how one of their friends battled it or lost the battle as Brendan did. I have been amazed at how many people's lives are touched by this insidious disease. Therefore I again ask even though we have raised 10k let us put that little extra push in towards the finish line and maybe just maybe the possible $20,000 we donate is all that is needed to help the people studying this disease to discover something that ensures one more person does not get taken over and fall victim to this evil disease and one more family and friends does not endure the pain of losing someone close to them.
