  • Pat,

The PCRG Countdown to Gold Coast campaign
(15 weeks) will kick off on March 24.

So what does the campaign involve I hear you ask: PCRG sessions will continue to take place in the same format that you currently "enjoy". The difference being that I become "slightly" more vocal in my level of encouragement and you will be constantly aware of how many seconds remain until July 5. If you won't be involved in any events at the Coast you will still be able to take part in the PCRG sessions.

Oh yeah, and the prizes: Lucky draw prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of every PCRG session during the 15 week period. Prizes are generously supplied by PCRG sponsors.

All PCRG members (Gold Coast entrants and non Gold Coast entrants) will be entitled to win a prize.

Top all of this off with a Pre Gold Coast Dinner and a post Gold Coast Cocktail Party as well as raising funds for our (soon to be announced) 2009 charity and you'll be sure to have an enjoyable 2009 Gold Coast experience.

Possibly you or your company would like to be involved with PCRG as a sponsor. PCRG Countdown to Gold Coast 2009 sponsorship proposal can be found here.

3k Time Trial tomorrow and I encourage you to treat the TT the very same way you approach every PCRG session - with a smile on your dial and an awareness that you have an opportunity to challenge yourself in a supportive group environment. If you wish to drop it back a gear or two you may enjoy pacing fellow PCRG members.

New PCRG Members: The 3k Time Trial is held along Riverside Drive West End and consists of a 1500metre out and back course. A strong majority of PCRG members use the Time Trial as a fitness bench mark. Previous PCRG 3K Time Trial results can be viewed here. The sessions still starts (5.40am) and finishes (around 6.40am) at The Ship Inn.

Any assistance non participating PCRG members can offer with marshalling duties will be greatly appreciated.

Safety: I consider your safety to be my responsibility however I'm unable to be everywhere at the same time. Please ensure you keep to the very side of the road and be constantly aware that cyclist (and the odd motor vehicle) use Riverside Drive. PCRG safety rules can be viewed here.

Catch you in the morning for a corker of a start to your day and sorry about last weeks seeded watermelon, it won't happen again.

    Cheers

    Pat
