If you wish to achieve a challenging goal in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon/Half Marathon or 10k (July 6) you will ideally be adopting a long campaign. Accumulating training weeks and uninviting weather are just two factors that can test motivation levels.   

Gold Coast motivational text message subscribers will be motivated by a sms text message every Tuesday Wednesday/Friday and Sunday over a 8 week period32 ''unique'' motivational sms text messages in total. 

Options:

  1. 4.50am Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday                
    & 5.30am Sunday (in your time zone)

  2. 11am (EST) Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday/Sunday

If you are an early morning runner a motivational text message @ 4.50am (5.30am Sunday) will inspire you to accept the challenge and rise out of bed before your weaker side possibly attempts to keep you under the doona. The text message can also double as your alarm.

If you prefer not to receive an early morning text you have the option to receive the very same message that 4.50am subscribers received but @ 11am (EST). 

You will be receiving and reading your motivational text message at the very same time as fellow subscribers throughout Australia who will also be preparing for their event at the Coast. 

The majority of the text messages will be written by myself along with special guest contributors:

Message example

Gold Coast – 7 weeks and 4 days to go! I trained on a daily basis with Rob De Castella during his final few years at the top. I recall one Sunday long run when someone asked Rob how far he was running to which Rob replied “Don’t you know what day it is” meaning EVERY Sunday was a long training run. “Of all the sessions you do, the single most important one is your long run.  It's the one that prepares your body best, it teaches it to become a "fat burning machine", toughens your muscles, bones and joints and strengthens your resolve and mental determination.  Don't ever miss a long run!” Rob De Castella
