I have
often overheard conversations, and also been involved in
discussions, as to who the greatest ever Australian Marathon
runner is. The obvious ones who are always in contention are
Derek Clayton, Dave Power, Rob De Castella and Steve Moneghetti.
There is
another individual who deserves equal attention, Lisa Ondieki.
If the Olympic Games is what it is all about then surely we
should look no further than our very own Silver Medalist from
the 88 Seoul Olympics.
I chatted
with Lisa, touching on her attitude to training and racing and
what it took to be one of the best in the World. It was
interesting to hear how Lisa now stands back in a state of
amazement and wonders how people can push to their max.
I hope you
enjoy listening to a true Australian distance running legend.
Cheers
Pat
