May 3k Time Trial
The
Countdown to Gold Coast has fallen into single digits and with
‘Less than 9 weeks to Go’ the May 3K Time Trial indicates the
group is well placed. From the 37 runners who took part we
had 18 personal best times.
With over
two months to go it is important to be aware that you have to
hold your form and not peak too soon. For the runners who ran
personal bests it is a matter of not getting too carried away
and to maintain a consistent and sensible approach. For the
runners who fell short of their personal bests it’s important to
be aware it’s early days and you have ample time to build on
where you are currently at and to peak in 2 months time.

I am
awarding the Athlete of the Month to Karen Masnata. Not only did
Karen slice 25sec off her personal best time in the Time Trial
but she also recently ran her first Half Marathon. Karen’s
running was given a kick along via the Nike training series last
year and it's great to see Karen has continued to run and
is all set to better her recently created personal at the Gold
Coast Half Marathon.

"GO KAREN"
Karen
receives a $40 voucher from Pat Carroll Running Group sponsor
‘Run on Down’. Congratulations Karen.
