December 3k Time Trial
December's 3k Time Trial resembled more a duathlon (run/swim)
than just a run by itself. It looked as if we were in for
perfect conditions as the rain stopped just before we started.
It wasn't to remain this way though for the heavens opened up
after about 500 metres of running and 'down she came'.
First the first time personal bests were not the order of the
day. There were a few exceptions though. Jodie reduced her PB
from 10.47 to 10.38, great stuff Jodie. David Lang from 10.33 to
10.24, all seems to be tracking along well for Canberra David,
just a matter of staying in one piece mate. Paula, who has been
busy with work and has been running solo came out and knocked
two seconds off her best time with 11.40.
Emma, who has also been busy
with work and ran her time trial in the afternoon phoned in with
a 12.53, which is a 11 second PB.
Nicholas was only 4 seconds outside his PB, Mel 6 seconds
outside and Rob missed
equaling his personal best by JUST 1 second.
Welcome to virgin Time Trialer Steven Bell and a HUGE welcome
back to Verity who is finally back after suffering a major
running injury.
The Pat Carroll running group athlete of the month award goes to
an excitable lady, Claire. Claire reduced her personal best from
13.24 to 13.18 and managed to keep her strides on in the
process. It was a close call between Jodie, David, Emma and Claire for
the award however Claire did have a slight hiccup with an injury
scare during the month and managed to overcome the adversity and
bounce back stronger than ever.
Claire receives a gift courtesy of out sponsor RUN ON DOWN.
