October 3k Time Trial
The weather we are experiencing in Brisbane at present is as
good as it gets if you are searching for ideal running
conditions. Unfortunately in a few months time we will be
cursing that damn sauna. Enjoy this time of year whilst it lasts
guys.
The October Time Trial was met, once again, with an array of
magnificent performances. Peter Hallahan joined the Sub 10min
club with his 9.54 down from his previous best of 10.06. Jess
smashed her PB of 14.00 with 13.38. One of the most notable
performances was by Scott Budd. Two days after achieving a PB in
the Coomera Half Ironman Scott comes out and reduces his 3k PB
from 11.09 to 10.35. Unbelievable Scott.
Personal bests also by Theresa 12.28 to 12.20, Sue 13.08 to
13.06 (looking good for the Melbourne Marathon Sue), Mark Huth
10.55 to 10.50 and Nicholas 11.18 to 11.07.
Welcome to virgin Time Trialers, David, Rob, Krishna, Matt,
Claire, Kieran, and Pat Mc.
I was faced with a tough choice when deciding the athlete of the
month. Scott, Jess and Peter ran so well however the decision
went to the guy who recently sprinted up the Goodwill Bridge
carrying Nemo, Matty Phillips.
Matt had a previous personal best of 10.19 and ran his heart out
with a 10.05 performance. I also admire the commitment Matt
displays with his training and there is no denying that he
brings a certain amount of color/fun to the group.
Matt receives a pair of NIKE shoes courtesy of the Pat Carroll
Running Group sponsor "Run on Down".
Please give the Enoggera or Camp Hill shop a visit when you are
in need of any running gear.
NIKE 10K on Sunday 10th of October. Entries close at
Rebel Sport in the City on Friday 8th.
Cheers
Pat
